IS EVY GOOD FOR SENSITIVE SKIN PRONE TO ACNE?
EVY is particularly good for sensitive and acne-prone skin that is often dry, since the patented medical technology-based formula has a proven anti-inflammatory effect and soothes the skin. The formulation protects against external irritants, moisturizes and maintains hydration level as well as helps the skin to build up its own defence, whilst allowing it to breathe freely. Ordinary sunscreens – especially those that contain larger than nano-sized particles – often clog pores, and many people get rashes and even more blisters after using these sunscreens. Acne sufferers are often afraid of oils and fat clogging pores. This can prevent healing and contribute to more acne. But the right kind of fatty acids can actually help balance sensitive skin. Many people lack the right kind of strengthening fatty acids in their skincare routine, and therefore their skin continues to be sensitive, even though it is well moisturized and taken care of! Our Evy Aftersun contains several ingredients that further calm, heal and strengthen the skin. It is (despite its name) extremely suitable for daily use on the face, body and even hair! There we have also added a small amount of Caprylic Capric fatty acid, which is extracted from coconut oil, however it is much lighter and finer than ordinary oils. Great both before and after shaving or applying makeup, both of which are also often contribute to irritated skin and acne.

ARE THERE ANY INGREDIENTS AFFECTING THE HORMONE BALANCE / ALLERGENS OR NANOPARTICLES IN EVY PRODUCTS?
No, there are no such known or controversial substances in EVY’s products. In this regard, the Norwegian Consumers Council has made a list of 35 sunscreens, of which only 11 met all the criteria set. Learn more about what is on their ‘banned list’ at http://www.forbrukerradet.no/test/2015/solkremtest-2015/
All EVY products are actually hypoallergenic, which means that no skin irritation was observed during the independent laboratory testing. This is thanks to a combination of our technology, the low level (about 9%) of sunscreen filters, and low levels of each type of filter in the formula. It contains about 70% water and interacts effectively with the skin. The cause of reactions to certain sunscreens is often due to the sun filter(s) used- the permitted amount is actually up to 25%, so Evy is well below that.
We have been working with sun protection since 1999 so we’ve been keeping a close eye on both trends within and the development of the market. When new filters appear on the market, they may sometimes appear to be better at face value, but there often isn’t sufficient testing or usage history supporting them. For example: 10-15 years ago parabens were widely accepted, but then were claimed to disturb hormonal balance. Physical filters like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide have been praised, then came research on nanoparticles that in principle all modern physical sunscreen contain, if they use these substances. (Evy does NOT contain Parabens or NanoParticles).
You should also be aware that rules on sunscreens are different in different parts of the world. What is our “truth” is not always universal. We believe that the US is somewhat behind us in development while Asia is ahead of us.
We incorporate several different sun filters to get a combination that protects well against UVA and UVB. As a result, there is also a lower amount of filters which should be seen as an advantage in view of possible side effects. Thanks to the airtight aerosol packaging, our products do not need any preservatives, but still have 3 years of shelf life from the date of manufacturing.

ARE THE PRODUCTS SUITABLE FOR VEGANS / ARE ANIMAL TESTED?
In some of our products, collagen is added which is derived from cattle. If you want to avoid this ingredient, you can choose SPF 10, 30 kids or 50 Kids. No products sold in the EU have been tested on animals and there is zero tolerance since 2013. Many countries stopped animal testing a long time ago as there are alternative methods. However, it is impossible to say safely if any of the raw ingredients have been tested or not on animals before / from third parties as many have a distant origin. We can guarantee that none of our finished products have ever been tested on animals. Our products have been tested on people for the past 20 years. Animal skin is not the same as human skin; animal tests are not only unnecessary but also inaccurate.
